Photo processing

When you choose an image in the generator, the application reads it on your device and processes it in your browser. The original photo is not uploaded to a photo-processing service. Generated projects are uploaded to Supabase only when you sign in and explicitly choose cloud backup. No account is needed to use the studio.

The active image and pattern are used by the page while you work. Downloaded files are saved through your browser to a location you choose or to your browser’s default download location. Those files remain on your device until you remove them. Your browser and operating system may separately manage caches, downloads, backups, or synchronization.

Saved projects and optional accounts

Device projects and threading positions are stored in IndexedDB until you delete them or clear browser data. Downloaded backups remain until you delete them. Installing the app stores static website files in a service worker cache for offline use.

When online accounts are enabled, Supabase handles your email, authentication and cloud projects. If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with Supabase to create or open your account; we never receive your Google password. Login tokens are kept in browser storage to maintain your session. You can export your account data, delete individual cloud projects, or permanently delete your account in the account section. Account deletion removes cloud projects and gallery posts; it does not remove downloaded or device copies. StringArtGen sells nothing and takes no payments.

Cookies, advertising, and analytics

The home, guide and technique pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google’s My Ad Center, and opt out of some other vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks for your choice before personalised ads are shown.

The studio itself includes no analytics services, social-media embeds or application tracking cookies, and your photo is never shared with advertisers. Opening an external link is a separate interaction with the destination website and is subject to that website’s practices.

Website hosting and request logs

This website is served by Cloudflare. Loading a page requires your browser to contact Cloudflare, which receives technical request information such as your IP address, the requested page, time, browser information and security-related data. Cloudflare uses it to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Requests to the optional account service are logged briefly for troubleshooting; they never contain your photo.

Processing the photo locally does not eliminate the ordinary network requests required to load the site.

Contact messages

If a confirmed contact email is shown on the contact page and you choose to write to it, your email provider and the recipient’s email provider will handle that message. Include only the information needed to explain your request. Do not send passwords, account access codes, or private photographs unless you have independently decided that sharing them is appropriate.

Questions and changes

Send privacy questions through the contact page. This notice is reviewed whenever the site’s hosting or data handling changes.
